My review of my new Svbony SV705C camera - First test on Planetary imaging!

Image
Geetings fellow astronomers.  I just recently purchased the Svbony SV705C planetary camera during the Svbony black Friday sale.  The Svbony SV705C planetary camera uses the larger Sony IMX585 sensor released around 2021 with a 1/1.2 pixel sensor.  The Svbony SV705C camera like most newer astro cameras on the market have several new technologies in them such as backlighting sensor technology removing virtually all amp glow that existed in older sensors so the image brightness is completely uniform across the sensor field (Sony STARVIS 2) which should help produce great captures.  Like other modern sensors the Sony IMX585 sensor uses HCG to increase dynamic range while lowering sensor noise another great feature which allows you to capture images with great dynamic color range and very low noise compared to older cameras (but there is still some noise at very high gains of course).  And yes the Sony IMX585 sensor in the Svbony SV705C camera has a much higher fullw...

Svbony SC311 WIFI camera followup review

Follow up on the Svbony SC311 WIFI camera 1 year later-Has it improved? Greetings fellow astronomers.  A little over a year ago in Dec 2023 I wrote a review on the new Svbony SC311 WIFI camera - see my first light review of this camera on my review blog and the Svbony website.  At the time this was supposed to be a new and improved WIFI camera on the block from Svbony based on the Sony IMX662 ultra low noise sensor and because of this astro camera had a lot of promise due to two significant features- totally wireless via WIFI and a well known fantastic ultra low noise and highly sensitive Sony sensor.  The Sony IMX662 sensor put in this camera and currently used in many other wired planetary cameras is known to produce great Astro images for both Deep sky and for Planetary capturing. I have used the Svbony SV305C planetary camera with the same very sensor the IMX662 and captured fantastic planetary and dso images from it actually and this is one of my favorite planetary c...

Player One Neptune 664C - First Light and Impressions

Image
Greetings fellow astronomers.  I recently purchased the new Player one Neptune 664C camera as a Christmas gift in early December 2024 and my family chipped in.  I purchased it in hopes to use it for astrophotography for deep sky imaging and of course for Planetary imaging.   I was quite impressed with the previous Svbony SV305C planetary camera I purchased in the summer time of 2023 when it was first released.   The Svbony SV305C planetary camera from Svbony produces very low noise and very clean images of both planets and deep sky targets I was very impressed so it seems buying the Player one Neptune with the 664C was a safe bet.  Please see my reviews on this planetary camera for more information on the Svbony SV305C camera. Why did I buy the Player one Neptune 664C camera when I already purchased the Svbony SV305C? Well the new Player one Neptune 664C has a sensor twice the area or size of the Sony IMX662 sensor in the Svbony SV305C and I wante...
